Slingerlands News Center. There have been several reports in the Voorhesville-Slingerlands-Delmar area of an elder biker on the Albany-Hudson Rail trail as early as 5 am. One of the reports, came from a concerned construction worker building the temporary bridge on the Rail Trail over New Scotland Road. The worker, who chose to remain anonymous, said the following;
“We were getting ready to start for the day, when this older bike rider was navigating through the construction detours. It took us by surprise, as it did several deer in the area, that looked on on amazement. We never see anyone on the trail this early in the morning.”
…a Community Care Physicians (CCP) employee also sees the elder biker on the trail. He occasionally parks in their parking lot, before getting his bike out of the back of his truck:
” I recognized the biker as one of our patients. While we applaud his dedication to exercise, we need to talk to him about the safety of riding on the trail at such an early hour. We will speak to him about personal safety at his Medicare Wellness Visit this year. “
The CCP worker declined to identify the biker, due to HIPAA regulations. If you see this person on the trail at such early hours, please call the News Center 28 hotline at 518- 653-3278 (old-fart). A photo of the man, obtained by News Center 28, is included below.
